Leather Facts
Leather is natural product with properties that are difficult to duplicate in any man made material. For example:
Leather is the most durable of all upholstery materials. Testing has established leather last 4:1. Unlike man made fabrics leather improve with age. Over the years leather becomes richer and supple and will acquire a soft patina like a well worn glove.
Leather is easy to maintain, requiring little effort to maintain on the part of the owner. All the oil conditioners and preservative necessary for the life of the leather have been applied during the tanning and finishing process. Therefore it is not necessary to apply any additional products to the leather.
Spills should be wiped up immediately with a clean damp cloth using lukewarm distilled water: allow to air dry
Leather a natural product breathes and adjusts to body temperature and varying humidity, so it feels comfortable in a warm and cool environment.
Clean your leather furniture frequently with a clean damp cloth using distilled water. This will remove dust and eliminate oils that can build up and discolor you leather or break down its protecting coating.
Leather furniture should not be exposed to:
- Direct sunlight
- Saddle soaps
- Abrasive cleaners, powdered products or organic solvents
- Wax or other cleaning products not specifically guaranteed safe to use on leather upholstery should never be used.
